Derek Richardson, Mr Music man

The Trustees of the Aiteal Trust were grateful to Derek for his wonderful music at our Spring Party, our guests loved it. Derek created a warm, friendly atmosphere in the barn, skilfully playing a range of instruments. He got us singing along, made us smile.

Perthshire-based, Derek Richardson, says he has been performing now for longer than he cares to mention. He has played in a number of bands over the years, as well as playing solo, and has toured extensively in the UK and overseas. His repertoire is basically Folk, Country and Contemporary accompanied by a choice of varying instruments. Where appropriate, he is also know for playing as a one-man band act: pedal bass with feet, stringed instrument with hands, whilst singing or playing mouth organ.
Over the last twenty five years Derek has been a lead member of the Perthshire-based band ‘On the Wagon’ and along with another member of this group has played for ‘Music in Hospitals and Care’, providing music for a wide variety of special needs.
