Turning Point Scotland: Coming Home Implementation Event

Our Chair, Kate Sainsbury, attended this one day Event in February. Today she received the following:

Good morning,

In timing with the closure of the Scottish Government’s proposed Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodiversity Bill consultation, we have now published our report on the Coming Home: Our Progress Towards Belonging, Wellbeing and Human Rights event on 22nd February.

We have promised that people stuck in hospital and inappropriate out of area placements will be able to come home, and the discussion at this event made clear the specific barriers standing in the way of delivering that promise.

Please find the full report attached to this email as promised on the day.

Thank you again for attending the event and engaging with the speakers on the day. We are sure you would agree it is important for us to maintain momentum, use the learning and experience developed through these projects to meet Scotland’s human rights obligations and strengthen social care services across the country.

Kind regards,

Neil Richardson
